Where We Go: Sedona, Arizona is much more than just another stop on the road. It is better defined as a state of mind; a place long held in high esteem by writers, painters, healers and seekers of all kinds. With brilliant red rock outcroppings, colorful foliage and some of the most dynamic skies anywhere, it is also a favorite hangout for photographers. Experience the magic of Sedona for yourself while visiting the area’s artsy mining town of Jerome, monoliths such as Cathedral and Bell Rock, and the tributaries of Oak Creek.

What You Learn: From the days of the first settlers, the allure of Sedona has been a powerful force. Tap into that force over the course of one week spent focusing solely on your photography and thinking about the role the medium plays in your life. Tim Cooper challenges you to get to the next level through a mixture of classroom lectures, critiques and field shoots, all of which help to hone your vision and train your eye. While on location, no question goes unanswered as Tim delivers individual attention and makes sure you understand concepts covered in classroom hours. His lecture topics include developing a personal style in your photos and the importance of building – and sticking to – a digital workflow that works for you. Tim demonstrates Adobe® Lightroom’s® Develop module and the HDR program, Photomatix® to assist you in fulfilling your vision. One-on-one sessions with Tim further help edify your approach to photography while group critique sessions allow you to receive feedback and benefit from his years of experience.

Considerations: You should be comfortable with the manual exposure operation of your digital camera.
