August’s Assignment – Fire in the Belly
We’ve just witnessed two, count ‘em two, so-called Supermoon events in the months of June and July when the perigee of the Earth’s lone satellite reaches is closest proximity to the planet and is also alignment with the Sun and Earth. The moon at its fullest state at this time appears to be extremely large and bright. I don’t know about you, but in my mind this event conjures up images of dancing humans around raging bonfires celebrating the magic of this celestial body and all it influences on our globe.
In honor of the Supermoon, we will attempt to stoke the embers of your own creativity and have you aim your flame at the subject of Fire in the Belly. What is it that ignites your creative passion? What particular muse living in your gut (or located elsewhere) fires your awareness? Maybe its fire itself – that eternal dancing and powerful force. Or maybe it’s the light created by fire to add warmth to any subject so illuminated by it. Or is the shadow side of fire, the destructive yet cleansing aspect of its character that speaks to you. It could be anything at all that lights your particular fire.
Whether it’s warmth, heat, light, shadow – or icebergs- that are your ignition point, we want to see this unique flame living inside of you and your camera. Just make sure not to get burnt in the process!
