Summer Intensive 2013 – Week 5
This week is a very short one for the students. The Fourth of July weekend provides a much welcome four-day break for everyone involved. Last weekend many of them made a road trip to Augusta, Montana for the annual historic rodeo that takes place there. Always an exciting and fun event to document, no doubt we’ll be seeing some of their rodeo life images in upcoming assignments or projects.
Their instructional events included the topic of landscape photography in Photo Studies, and the always challenging technique of hyperfocal focusing. This included an optional field help sunrise shoot on location in town. In Output, the students were critiqued by the instructor on their fine art print work. The Edit classes involved their first introduction to Photoshop and focused lab time to use this software with their own images. And the studio spaces were active this week with an optional opportunity to work with the instructor on hand to assist them with their own projects.
They are off until next Monday, and next week they will be required to present their completed mid-term slideshows to the instructors which is always a major milestone in the course. Nearly half over, the time is flying by for these emerging professionals and artists.
