Alumni Friday – Maribeth Brunst
It has been a little over a year since the Career Training class of 2010 completed their studies, graduated and have moved on with their lives and endeavors in photography. As outstanding a class as it was, Maribeth Brunst stands out among them as one of the most motivated, productive and inspiring of her fellow graduates…and I believe most of them would agree. Blessed with a vivacious spirit, passion for people and creativity in abundance, she has hit the ground running with founding her own portraiture/wedding/commercial photography business in her hometown of Baltimore, Maryland and the Washington DC area. For all of these reasons, she was selected as one of the Career Training program’s teaching assistants in 2011. To say she was an asset to the program is an understatement. This year’s staff and students all benefited from her daily injections of enthusiasm, encouragement and laughter. Her faith is what drives her, and she holds a personal philosophy of making each day the happiest it can be.
Since returning home this year, she’s back at it again with relocating her studio and business to Glen Rock, PA and photographing commercial work, engagement sessions, weddings, senior portraits, family sessions and one of her favorite subjects, children. She also has managed to squeeze in attending the recent industry trade show PDN Photo Plus in NYC and assisting on a shoot for past ASMP president Judy Herrmann at Herrmann + Starke Photography. All of this experience is adding up to make it quite a year for her, both personally and professionally.
As fulfilling an experience as it was for her to be a student in ’10, she has expressed to us that 2011 exceeded her expectations in terms of what she would gain from working for RMSP. She could not have been more helpful and inspiring while in the program and to that we say, the school has been blessed to have had her with us two years running.
