Course: Yosemite National Park: Western Grandeur
Since attending my first RMSP workshop about seven or eight years ago, I now eagerly await
for the catalog to come out. This year I chose the Yosemite National Park workshop with
Lynn Hoffman-Brouse as I had never been to Yosemite nor had I ever met Lynn. Neither the
location nor Lynn as an instructor disappointed me. The grandeur of Yosemite can be daunting,
especially for the first-timer photographing a place immortalized by Ansel Adams. Lynn helped
me achieve a sense the place and soon I was able to photograph the larger-than-life vistas as
well as the smaller things that are part of this magnificent place.
The weather provided an excellent opportunity to photograph in a variety of conditions and light.
Between rain, snow, cloudy mornings and sunny afternoons we were able to explore the park with Lynn’s
guidance and directions. Another nice aspect of this workshop was an opportunity to meet with Lynn
one-on-one to discuss topics of my interests. I appreciated Lynn’s insight and teaching techniques.
Spending time photographing Yosemite was an experience I shall always treasure and plan to return. I
have been pleased with the quality of workshops and instructors and look forward to attending more
