Course: Basic Photography
I was so fortunate to spend a week in beautiful Missoula, Montana learning the art of photography
from wonderful instructors. Doug Johnson is a talented photographer and a gifted teacher. What I
once considered "technical jargon" became simple basics of the camera under Doug's instructions.
Page, his assistant, also displayed so much patience as she answered our questions in the class
and during our assignments. After every class session I couldn’t wait to go on our field shoot.
The opportunity to share the experience with wonderful people made the class so much fun. To be
able to share my passion with others who love photography made the week an unforgettable experience.
I learned so much from my classmates in terms of perspective and composition. Our daily critiques
provided me with insight on how I can improve the technical aspects of my photos, but to see my
subject in a more creative light.
Since the class I now have left the world of Auto to endless possibilities with Manual Mode. The
lessons of RMSP have left me feeling empowered to use my camera to create the photos I have envisioned
for so long. My passion for photography has only grown since attending the Basic Photography Course.
