Learning to Photograph with Your Digital SLR with Doug Johnson
January 19-20
It’s a rather simple concept that gets overlooked more often than not: The more you know your camera, the better
images you will create. If you want to move beyond "happy accidents," and start creating "educated, intentional"
images, join Doug Johnson for an in-depth primer on using your digital SLR to create better photographs. This two-day
course includes location shooting as well as classroom lectures and critiques. As much as possible, Doug offers
one-on-one assistance in the field and makes sure that no question goes unanswered in the classroom.

Understanding the Basics of Adobe Lightroom 4
February 23-24
Think of Adobe Lightroom as a one-stop shop for all of your post-capture needs. This powerful piece of software allows
you to manage, edit and share your photos in a seamless and intuitive manner. And best of all, it can add tons of
enjoyment to the whole process! Join Kathy Eyster for this intro level class designed to give you an overview of working
with Adobe Lightroom.
Over the course of the weekend Kathy gives you a guided tour of the software by walking you through the process of
creating a catalog and establishing a workflow. You practice importing new photos, organizing them and applying keywords,
ratings, labels and also learn ways to sort, filter and view your images. From there you learn how to export your images
at sizes appropriate for print, email or posting to the web. This class is a mix of lecture and assisted practice time in
which you learn by working on your own images.

Each day Photofocus runs from 9am – 6pm with a break for lunch.
