Where We Go: Beyond defining a specific region in Northern California, the words “wine country” speak to a way of life and a state of mind that is ever-present in this alluring part of the country. Arguably the most comfortable time of year in Northern California, autumn brings fog-blanketed mornings, sunny afternoons and pleasant evenings. Perfect for you to create magnificent images. The reds, yellows and greens of the area’s vineyards provide splashes of color, bringing your photos to life. During the week, you visit several wineries, from small, family-owned vineyards to larger, more established operations. A behind-the-scenes look at a winery cask room offers you the chance to create unique images. You travel between Sonoma and St. Helena and explore the Russian River Valley for endless photo opportunities.
What You Learn: Adding to the comfortable vibe the area naturally provides, Tony’s relaxed, humorous approach allows you to advance your photography skills in a fun-loving atmosphere. Throughout the week, you enjoy ample time creating images in the field with Tony available to answer your questions one-on-one and provide pointers as necessary. During group critique sessions, which take place several times throughout the week, you discover ways to improve your photography by receiving constructive feedback from Tony as well as your fellow photographers.
Who Should Attend: You should be comfortable with the manual exposure operation of your camera. Film cameras are welcome, however only digital images can be critiqued.
