Where We Go: Some locations just seem to have it all. The Northern California coast, however, has it all and then some! From the big city of San Francisco to the towns of Monterey and Carmel, this stretch of coastline has been inspiring travelers for decades. During the week, Tim guides you around the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, where you create images of the iconic Golden Gate Bridge and the surrounding urban parks. You visit the old growth forests of Muir Woods, located just 17 miles northwest of San Francisco. Later in the week, you head south along Highway 1 to photograph the artistic town of Monterey and the historic community of Carmel. While in this area, you also visit Point Lobos and Garrapata State Parks.

What You Learn: In this workshop, Tim makes sure that every question you have gets answered, allowing you to thoroughly understand the photographic topics covered. During lectures, he discusses photographing the ocean and its coastal environment, understanding a histogram, filters, white balance, exposure and Zone System for color. Upon completion of this workshop, you are able to create landscape images that are both technically accurate and aesthetically pleasing.

Who Should Attend: You should be comfortable with the manual exposure operation of your camera. Only digital images can be critiqued in this workshop.

This workshop begins Saturday at 7 p.m. and ends Friday at noon.
