Where We Go: It’s hard to deny—experiencing a brilliant sunset or catching an early morning sunrise is an unbeatable feeling. Unfortunately, that great feeling does not necessarily translate into great images. Experienced landscape photographer Tim Cooper shows you how you can make the most of these amazing moments. From the Lee Metcalf National Wildlife Refuge in the valley below the Bitterroot Mountains to the rushing waters of Kootenai and Bass creeks to the stunning Mission Mountains near St. Ignatius, Montana, Tim teaches you how to make your landscape images “pop.”
What You Learn: Perhaps the only thing more rewarding than experiencing the feeling of “magic hour,” is experiencing it with your camera in hand, confident that you can capture it. Over the course of seven days, Tim provides classroom lectures on topics including composition, exposure, depth of field, how to show motion in your images and which equipment to use in certain situations. Field assignments allow you to practice and learn while having Tim available to answer any questions that may arise. During daily critique sessions, feedback on your images allows you to identify specific areas in which you can work to improve and inspires you to grow as a photographer.
Who Should Attend: You should be comfortable with the manual exposure operation of your camera. Both 35 mm slides and digital images can be critiqued.
This workshop begins Saturday at 7 p.m. and ends Friday at noon.
