Ansel Adams told his father that photography was only a hobby. He became one of the most celebrated photographers in history. Alfred Eisenstaedt was a belt salesman early in his career. Today, he is considered by many to be the photojournalist of the century. Annie Leibovitz learned photography by taking night classes when she was in high school. In 2007 she photographed the Queen of England. At the beginning of these photographers’ careers, they didn’t know where their camera would take them. All they had to guide their way is the feeling you have right now: A strong desire to learn photography—and the willingness to make it happen.
Every year in our Career Training program, we see the Ansel, Alfred and Annie in every student that looks to us to transform their photography dreams into realities. To make this possible, we work with the best instructors in the industry and never let the dust settle on our curriculum. Our program consists of three distinct courses. Summer Intensive allows you to build a strong foundation. Professional Studies helps you focus on your career path and Advanced Intensive develops your digital and business skills so that when you walk out the door after graduation, you can quickly and confidently get to work.
By design, the program is intense. Over the course of five months, you will rely on your instructors and fellow students for support, and they will rely on you. Come October, you will know—firsthand—what it takes to succeed. And best of all, you will have the confidence and the ability to find success—wherever photography may take you.
Our Career Training program offers a complete professional training curriculum. It consists of three sessions of immersion-style courses over a 20-week period. These courses provide the education, opportunity and environment for you to focus on learning the craft of photography while gaining the confidence and know-how required to make it a career. Students include those wanting to start or refine a full-time photography business as well as artists developing their work. All of the instructors in the Career Training program devote themselves to teaching and sharing the tools used in their own success as photographers.
